Tania Anderson is the Chief Executive Officer of ARISE, a non-profit organization that helps people with disabilities in Central New York live independently.12 She became CEO in April 2016 after serving on the Board of Directors since 1998 and as Board President for eight years.13
Anderson has a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and previously worked as a law clerk for the New York State Supreme Court for 12 years.13 Her advocacy for people with disabilities became personal when her daughter Eliza was diagnosed with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, a rare genetic condition, at 13 months old.1
Under Anderson's leadership, ARISE has focused on:
- Increasing collaboration with other human services agencies
- Developing strategic partnerships
- Addressing challenges such as Medicaid reform, economic conditions, and workforce shortages1
Anderson's commitment to ARISE's mission is deeply rooted in her personal experience as a mother of a child with special needs, which has driven her to improve access to support services and promote inclusivity for people with disabilities.1
