Jeremy "Jerry" Shaw is an accomplished lead engineering teacher at South Shore Reg. Voc. Tech. High School (SSVT) with a proven track record of creating and implementing innovative high school engineering programs.
Jerry is known for his two year long courses at SSVT that focus on the 'Theory and Practice' of engineering, aimed at preparing students for college and the workforce.
With a background in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Middle/Secondary Engineering Education from Tufts University, Jerry brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his teaching roles.
Apart from SSVT, Jerry has also contributed significantly to the education sector by creating and leading programs like the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering program at Somerville High School and serving as the Director of their FabLab.
Jerry's passion for inspiring the next generation of engineers extends beyond traditional classroom settings. He has collaborated with i2 Camp to design and teach innovative curriculum, engaging junior high students in engineering and the sciences.
In addition to teaching, Jerry is licensed to teach various subjects including Middle/High School Engineering/Technology, Students with Moderate Learning Disabilities, and Physics in Massachusetts.
Prior to his career in education, Jerry accumulated over five years of experience as a successful electrical engineer in the Nuclear Power and Datacenter industries, where he excelled in design, project management, and training roles.
