Shared Palliative Care Summary

Blue Cabin is a CIC that places creativity at the heart of relationships. We work with people with experience of the care sector (looked after children, care leavers, families, and more) to provide engaging creative and cultural experiences. The aim of these experiences is improving communication and relationships for the people who matter, alongside their families and professionals in their lives.
At Blue Cabin we are always working across specialist delivery, partnerships with local experts and providers, and research to inform our next steps. Ultimately this research will highlight the improving outcomes for young people with whom we are privileged enough to share some space.

Development Manager

As a volunteer to the project, I provided strategic level support advice and guidance up to one day per week and led on the development and delivery of some aspects of the project.  Part of a national consortium, Strong Voices was pivotal for 'vulnerable' young people in the north east, with particular regard to provision of cultural experiences which contribute to their engagement and development. 
The opportunity to volunteer was a breath of fresh air, contributing to my professional practise and skill set. In particular, it was pivotal to be, on one hand, in a dialogical position aiding development within a national consortium, whilst also undertaking direct work supporting vulnerable individuals who could contribute and guide the wider processes.

At Brandinstinct I cut my cultural teeth when I began working globally, gaining experience managing my own client portfolios from large FMCG designer brands based in Switzerland to famous beverage companies owned by Oligarchs in Russia; in addition to running conferences for Sheiks and business leaders in the Middle-East. The core role was to underpin client work with sound administrative systems and support.

> Facilitating communication between the charitable sector, senior brand strategists and undergraduate design students to enable the no-cost creation of global brand for charities.

Marketing Assistant

Recruited, selected and coached a high-performance rowing squad at the pinnacle of the Durham University structure.
Won more medals and placed more highly in major competitions than the previous six-year history of the squad combined.
Developed a foundation for working with groups and an interest in communication and positioning in both person and squad development.

"But perhaps most remarkable were the Freshers crew ... coached by Durham resident Marc Jones, ... accomplishing what no other Freshers crew has ever accomplished. Considering the whole crew only started rowing in October, this is a particularly amazing achievement."
