With a background in Value Chain Development, Market Development, and International Development, Wesam has acquired a diverse skill set to address complex challenges in fostering sustained growth in vulnerable economies.

Education-wise, Wesam holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Value Chain Development with a Pro-Poor Approach from the International Labour Organisation in Turin, Italy, a BA (Hons) in Marketing Management from the University of Luton (now University of Bedfordshire) in the UK, and a Master's degree in International Development with a focus on Conflict, Security & Development from the University of Birmingham.

Wesam Qaid has held significant roles in organizations dedicated to fostering economic growth and empowerment. He served as the Deputy Managing Director of the Social Fund for Development in Yemen and as the Executive Director at SMEPS (SFD) and Small Micro Enterprise Promotion Service (SMEPS), which is a subsidiary of the Social Fund for Development.
