Tippy Tippens is a multidisciplinary designer, social entrepreneur, consultant, and environmentalist. She holds a Master of Industrial Design from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Furniture Design and Fabrication from Virginia Commonwealth University. Tippy's professional career spans across various industries, including architecture, lighting, furniture, and consumer products.
Tippy is the founder and Chief Eternal Optimist of Goods that Matter, an environmentally conscious social enterprise that creates everyday goods that support social and environmental causes. In addition, she has worked as a design consultant, an adjunct professor of Social Political Design at Loyola University New Orleans, and a former industrial designer at Kohler Co. and a freelance designer in New York City.
Tippy's expertise lies in sustainable design, social entrepreneurship, environmentalism, product design, and research. She also has experience in marketing, teaching, consulting, and custom furniture and cabinet making. Her interests include design for social change, innovation, and building a more sustainable future.
