    Thomas Patrick Carson is a social scientist with over 25 years of experience in strategic planning, performance management systems, and social research methodologies.

    He has worked in 40+ countries and collaborated with organizations like USAID, Open Society Foundations, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

    Dr. Carson has expertise in Economic Development, Anti-Corruption, Governance, Human Rights, Health, Natural Resource Management, and Post-Conflict stabilization sectors.

    His work has mainly focused on transitional environments, including high conflict, conflict, and post-conflict regions.

    He has served in various roles such as director, chief of party, and senior technical consultant to develop and implement monitoring and evaluation systems globally.

    Thomas Carson holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Sociology (Social Psychology) from the University of Michigan, a Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from San Francisco State University, and a B.S. in Economics from San Jose State University.

    Currently, Dr. Carson is a consultant under contract with USAID Philippines, supporting their strategic planning process, and has previously been the Chief of Party at USAID/Bangladesh Accelerating Capacity for Monitoring & Evaluation (ACME) Activity.
