Shawna Pandya

Dr. Shawna Pandya is a multi-talented individual with a diverse range of expertise. She is known for her roles as an astronaut, physician, aquanaut, speaker, martial artist, advanced diver, skydiver, and pilot-in-training. Currently, she serves as Astronaut 002 at IIAS and holds the position of VP Immersive Medicine at Luxsonic Technologies.

Dr. Pandya is a highly educated professional, having studied Medicine at the University of Alberta, Space Studies at the International Space University, and Neuroscience for her BSc Hons., also at the University of Alberta.

Throughout her career, Dr. Pandya has held various significant positions in different organizations, including being a board member at Shad Canada and the International Lunar Observatory Association. She has also been involved with projects such as Astreas.co, Above Space, and AIAA ASCEND.

Passionate about pushing the boundaries of human capabilities, Dr. Pandya focuses on advancing technological innovation, expanding human knowledge, and addressing major global challenges to drive positive change. She is a Fellow of the Explorers’ Club and a Karman Pioneer, showcasing her commitment to exploration and innovation.

Her extensive experience spans across roles such as Director of the IIAS Space Medicine Group, Chief Instructor of the IIAS Space Medicine course, and medical advisor to various organizations. Dr. Pandya's influence extends to public speaking engagements, where she shares her insights and knowledge on topics related to space, medicine, and technology.
