Ruwa Romman

Ruwa Romman is a prominent figure in both the public and private sectors, currently serving as a State Representative in the Georgia General Assembly since January 2023. She represents Georgia House District 97, making history as the first Muslim woman and the first Palestinian-American elected to the Georgia State House.23

Education and Early Career

Ruwa Romman holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Georgetown University, which she completed in 2019, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Oglethorpe University, where she graduated in 2015. During her time at Oglethorpe, she was actively involved in student leadership, serving as the President of the Student Government Association and co-founding several organizations.13

Professional Experience

Before her election to the state legislature, Romman worked as a Senior Consultant at Deloitte from May 2021 to December 2022, after serving as a Consultant in the Government & Public Services division from August 2019 to May 2021. In these roles, she provided strategic counsel to enhance public sector performance.13 Her earlier positions included being a Legislative Fellow at Poligon Education Fund and Communications Director for CAIR-Georgia, showcasing her commitment to civil rights and community engagement.23
