Emily Cohen is a dedicated professional who has made it her life's mission to change the way American cities address homelessness. With a Master's degree in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University and a Bachelor's degree in Politics from the University of San Francisco, Emily has an impressive educational background that has prepared her perfectly for a career in public service. Currently, she serves as the Deputy Director for Communications & Legislative Affairs at the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing, where she works to create policy solutions and raise public awareness to address the problem of homelessness. Prior to this role, Emily held several other positions of increasing responsibility and leadership in the public sector, including Director of Strategy & External Affairs at the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing, Policy Advisor, Homelessness at the Office of Mayor London Breed, and Manager for Policy and Special Projects at the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing. Emily has also worked with several nonprofit organizations, including the Mayor's Office of HOPE, Project Homeless Connect, One Family Inc, and the Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance. Whether working directly with homeless populations or developing strategic policy solutions, Emily's extensive experience makes her a valuable asset to any organization that's dedicated to positive social change.
