Ophthalmologist and AI researcher, Dr. Roy Schwartz, brings a unique blend of medical expertise and data science knowledge to the healthcare industry. With a background in clinical research and a deep understanding of artificial intelligence applications in medicine, Dr. Schwartz leverages his skills to make significant contributions in the field of ophthalmology.

Dr. Schwartz completed his MD from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and further pursued his interest in AI-enabled healthcare by obtaining a PhD from University College London (UCL). As a Specialty Doctor in Medical Retina at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, he focuses on delivering top-notch care to patients while staying at the forefront of technological advancements. Prior to this role, he served as a Medical Retina Research Fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital, where he gained invaluable experience in retinal imaging and clinical trials.

Before his time at Moorfields, Dr. Schwartz worked as a physician at the Tel Aviv Medical Center and Sheba - Tel HaShomer Hospital, honing his diagnostic and treatment skills. He also held the position of Physician Assistant at Hadassah Medical Hospital, where he gained valuable insights into the administrative and operational aspects of healthcare.

With a passion for data analysis and software development, Dr. Schwartz has a solid foundation in computer science. He has used his expertise in big data analysis, including electronic health records, to glean valuable insights and contribute to medical research. His experience as an Information Specialist and Project Manager at Infolink, as well as his role as a System Analyst and UI Specialist at Matrix, further solidified his proficiency in software development and project management.

Additionally, Dr. Schwartz has dedicated time to teaching at UCL and Moorfields Eye Hospital, where he imparts his knowledge of AI application to medicine to the next generation of healthcare professionals. As an Educational Software Designer at IDF, he has also demonstrated his ability to create innovative educational tools.
