Roman Mantelmakher is a tech entrepreneur and the founder of CheapTrip, a platform designed to help travelers find the most affordable routes between cities by combining various modes of transportation such as flights, buses, trains, and rideshares. He has been in this role since September 2020, where he also developed the underlying algorithms and managed a team of developers, testers, and designers to implement the system in C++.12
Before founding CheapTrip, Mantelmakher held several significant positions in the tech industry. He worked as a Lead Software Engineer at Acronis and contributed as a C++ Software Engineer at Verint Cyber Intelligence and Zoro, where he focused on performance profiling and algorithm development. Additionally, he was the founder of Venew, a location-based social network, prior to his current venture.12
Mantelmakher holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a Bachelor’s degree from Voronezh State University. He has been recognized for his accomplishments in mathematics, including achieving third place in the All-Russia Mathematical Olympiad for second-degree students.1
