He commenced his career in the U.S. Air Force, diligently serving from 1970 to 1978 and notably enduring captivity during the Vietnam War from 1972 to 1973.

Post his military service, Ralph transitioned to the corporate sector, making significant contributions at IBM from 1979 to 2008 and subsequently at SAP from 2008 to 2010.

Education-wise, he pursued a Bachelor of Science in English Language and Literature at Saint Joseph's University, complemented by a Master's in Public Administration with a focus on Human Resource Management from Golden Gate University.
