Pietro Grimaldi

Pietro Grimaldi is an accomplished expert in the field of Architectonic Photogrammetry with a rich academic background in Civil Engineering.

Since 1982, Pietro has been actively involved in the documentation of cultural heritage using advanced technologies such as digital Photogrammetry, 3D laser scanning, and thermographic technology.

His notable work includes the photogrammetric documentation of the 'Convent of San Damiano in Assisi' in 1990, which was published in 'The Ecclesiastical Cultural Heritage.'

Pietro's passion for architectural documentation led him to establish a 'Center for Documentation of Cultural Heritage online in South America' with the University Central of Venezuela's support.

He has contributed to around 50 publications, primarily presented at international conferences across the globe, showcasing his expertise in the field.

Currently, Pietro Grimaldi holds the position of expert in photogrammetry and 3D laser scanning at Politecnico di Bari in Italy and is an Associate Professor at Fotogrammetrie, UȘAMV, Timișoara, Romania.
