American Medical Response, Inc. was formed in February 1992 with that express aim, and since that time the company has become the preeminent force in its field.  AMR, through the merger and simultaneous initial public offering of four ambulance service providers, started with $106 million in revenue and operated in 4 states with 1,600 employees.  AMR had annual revenue of $900 million at the time of its sale to Laidlaw, Inc. of Canada.  The company’s growth was driven by 76 acquisitions, which had been completed since its public offering.

Omni was sold to ADT Limited in 1984.  He continued to manage the business for two years subsequent to the sale.  During his tenure at Omni and Allwaste, Mr. Verrochi completed over 50 acquisitions.
