Nazaneen Khalilnaji-Otto

Nazaneen Khalilnaji-Otto is an Oakland-based program director at Citizen Schools, a national nonprofit organization that enriches student learning experiences by connecting them with volunteer professionals to teach hands-on learning experiences. Khalilnaji-Otto is responsible for developing partnerships with schools, recruiting and training volunteers, and designing volunteer-led workshops for middle school students. She has a master's degree in public policy from the University of Maryland and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California, Davis. Before working at Citizen Schools, Khalilnaji-Otto was a program director at the Public Health Institute in Oakland, where she helped develop and implement health programs for underserved communities. She is passionate about education and is committed to closing the opportunity gap for children in low-income communities.
