Natty Zola is a Partner at Matchstick Ventures, a venture capital firm investing in early-stage technology companies in the Rockies and North regions of the United States.4 He leads seed stage investments in software companies and has invested in over 100 companies to date.23

Prior to joining Matchstick Ventures in 2018, Natty was the Managing Director for six Techstars Boulder accelerator programs from 2015 to 2020.4 In this role, he invested in 64 companies and built a strong network of entrepreneurs, investors and partners in the Colorado startup ecosystem.5

Before transitioning to investing, Natty founded a company called Everlater in 2008, which he scaled and sold to AOL in 2012.14 He then served as the Senior Director of Product Management & Design at MapQuest, leading product strategy and design for their consumer products.5

Natty started his career as a Senior Research Associate at Jim Collins LLC, where he contributed to two bestselling business books.1 He also worked in General Electric's Financial Management Program in corporate finance, FP&A, and IR roles.1

Natty is deeply committed to supporting entrepreneurs and helping them succeed. He is described as ambitious yet humble, kind, supportive, loyal and earnest.1 Natty spends a lot of time helping founders become the best versions of themselves and provides hands-on support with product, operations, UX and analytics.14

Originally from Boulder, Colorado, Natty is passionate about growing the startup ecosystem in the Rockies region.14 He currently resides in Boulder with his wife Pam and their young sons, enjoying outdoor activities like biking and skiing.14
