Alea Tveit is a passionate social justice advocate, researcher, and community organizer with over eight years of experience working with nonprofits and think tanks. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sociology, Anthropology, and Women's Studies, as well as a Masters of Science in Macro Social Work and Organizational Leadership with a 4.0 GPA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Alea's professional experience includes serving as a Community Engagement Manager at Unite Us, Manager of Education Services and Community Engagement at WTCI-PBS, Central Appalachian Regional Research Fellow and Facilitator at ioby, Research Assistant at Metro Ideas Project, Policy and Research Intern at National Resource Network, PFM Group, Research and Policy Associate, Facilitator, and Community Organizer at UnifiEd, and Research and Policy Fellow at Eichenthal Fellowship.

She specializes in social and racial justice, grassroots community organizing, anti-oppression and root-cause systemic change work, and equity-centered frameworks, research, and data analytics processes to inform movements and programs. Her expertise lies in analyzing data and providing it as evidence to community leaders to advocate for justice and equitable policy. Alea is particularly interested in facilitating programming for youth organizers to engage in PAR processes and advocacy. She believes in work that is participatory, centers community and student voice, and is never prescriptive as the community holds the expertise.
