Steve Moon
Director of Elgin Programs at Grand Victoria Foundation
Steve Hosik Moon is currently the Interim VP of Strategy & Programs at Grand Victoria Foundation, having assumed this role in September 2024.2 Prior to this, he served as the Director of Elgin Programs from July 2020 to September 2024, and as Elgin Program Officer from January to July 2020.23
Moon has a background in community organizing and social justice. Before joining Grand Victoria Foundation, he was the Director of Organizing at Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Chicago, where he contributed to the organization's shift towards racial equity and grassroots leadership.1 He played a key role in developing a youth organizing program and achieving significant legislative victories.1
Steve remains committed to youth development and cultural work, serving as a board member for Kuumba Lynx, a prominent youth arts organization in Chicago.1 He has also taught a community engagement course for the Global Asian Studies program at UIC.1
Academically, Moon graduated from the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago, UCLA's Asian American Studies program, and the University of Michigan.1
