Kathleen Utecht

Kathleen Utecht is a prominent figure in the venture capital landscape, serving as the Managing Partner at Core Innovation Capital, a firm that focuses on investing in financial technology companies aimed at empowering everyday Americans. She has been with Core since 2011, initially joining as a Principal and later becoming a Managing Partner in 2014. In March 2022, she transitioned to the role of Partner Emeritus, continuing to provide strategic guidance and support to the firm's portfolio companies.123

Utecht's career spans various roles in both investment and entrepreneurship. Before her tenure at Core Innovation Capital, she was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Comcast Ventures and worked with WVP Ventures. She also founded and served as CEO of Green Rock Entertainment, a commerce company that was acquired in 2009. Her early career included positions in investment banking at Raymond James and participation in General Electric's Financial Management Program.134

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance and Entrepreneurship from Babson College and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
