Katherine Banghart

Katherine Banghart is an accomplished educator with a diverse background in teaching, leadership development, and literacy. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Classics and Latin from Kalamazoo College and began her career as a High School English Teacher at Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. After a few years in the classroom, she joined Teach For America as a Corps Member Advisor, where she helped new teachers succeed in their roles. She then became a Literacy Specialist and later a Manager of Teacher Leadership Development at Teach For America. In these roles, she developed and implemented professional development programs for teachers across multiple regions.

After leaving Teach For America, she joined Colegio Panamericano as a Seventh and Eighth Grade English Teacher. Most recently, she serves as the Principal of IDEA Pflugerville College Prep at IDEA Public Schools. In this role, she oversees the academic program, culture and community, and operations for a school campus serving approximately 1000 students.
