John Rockhold

John Rockhold, a professional investment manager, has extensive experience in upgrading, perfecting, and expanding international energy businesses into Vietnam. With a strong focus on meeting clients' needs for sustainable and profitable projects, he is a productive, enthusiastic, and communicative team player, motivating both Vietnamese and international teams to reach their goals and budgets.
Rockhold's expertise lies in investing, managing the development and construction of private and public energy, renewable energy projects, buildings, factories, and social infrastructure for investors, banks, and governments, with over 28 years of experience in Vietnam on more than 100 projects from concepts to productive start-ups.
He is the current President at PRIM Vietnam, where he and the team invested $5.1 million in December 2019 to establish a new Vietnamese/USA IPP of a deep water port, terminal, and 4 GW gas fire plant. Moreover, he has worked closely with ABBO Energy Group on Vietnamese Foreign Direct Investment projects in Energy Efficient Industries, LNG, and Renewables.
Rockhold chairs the Vietnam Business Forum Energy and Power Working Group, a partnership between IFC/World Bank and Ministry of Planning and Investment/MOIT. Furthermore, he is in charge of AmCham Power and Energy and a member of the Nordic Chamber of Commerce HCMC.
Rockhold finished his studies in Engineering and Applied Science from the University of California, and his expertise includes private and public energy, renewable energy projects, buildings, factories, and social infrastructure.
