My role here is to work with and modify the in-house tools that are used to bring legacy code into modern object-oriented languages through an automated process. I have worked on language grammar, VB6 and Classic ASP particularly, which are used with the parsing framework to create Abstract Syntax Trees for the legacy code. These trees are used to extract information such as business rules and variable lists for the transformation process. I also worked closely on a tool that extracted business rules from this tree, converted it to an English-like description, and placed these in an Excel sheet for the client.

•	Writing language grammars used for parsing and analyzing legacy code.
•	Worked on a tool that called an App Overview Map, which used Dotty to display all program connections for a legacy system. This was a console application in C#.
•	Schema Builder - A project in C# that was written to read in an Abstract Syntax Tree of a Cobol file and create SQL script from this tree. The new database would be used in the modernized system created for the client.
•	SRS Generator- Creates business rule documents presented in Excel spreadsheets as part of the client modernization package. This used the Abstract Syntax Tree to extract these business, data, and technical rules.
•	Transforms- These are classes written to work with the transformation engine. Each class will manipulate a given section of the Abstract Syntax Tree and prepare it for transformation. I worked on the transform of the “if” statement.
