John Davis-Piotrowski

John Davis-Piotrowski (he/him) is a Queer, anti-racist, and Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) practitioner.1 He is passionate about people and is currently the Manager of Culture & Belonging at Community Financial Credit Union (CU).1 He is also a 2023 CUNA Crasher.12

In his role at Community Financial CU, which he began in June 2022, John is responsible for creating a culture of belonging through team member connection and engagement, incorporating the voice of the team member, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.1 Davis-Piotrowski is focused on building a diverse and equitable credit union community where everyone feels they belong and is connecting with credit union groups like CU Pride and Humanidei.1

Prior to his current role, John was a founding fellow for CEO Action for Racial Equity, partnering with organizations on racial equity policy at the local, state, and federal level.1 Before that, he spent 10 years in financial institutions, starting as a call center agent and working his way up through various leadership positions.1 Earlier in his career, Davis-Piotrowski held positions at Flagstar Bank as a Customer Insight and Reporting Analyst (January 2019-October 2020), Team Leader- Client Relations Teams at Amrock (February 2016 - January 2019), and Social Media Advocate at Quicken Loans (September 2012 - February 2016).1

John is a passionate Detroiter who enjoys spending time in the city with his husband Nick and their friends, as well as connecting with diverse communities.1

John Davis-Piotrowski holds a B.A. in Psychology and LGBTQ/ Sexuality Studies from the University of Michigan.1 He has also obtained several licenses and certifications, including:
