Ashindi Maxton
Executive Director at Donors of Color Network
Ashindi Maxton is a prominent advocate for racial and social justice, currently serving as a Board Member at Voqal USA. She is also a Co-Founder and former Executive Director of the Donors of Color Network (DOCN), where she has played a significant role in shaping funding strategies that have influenced over $100 million in investments aimed at advancing democracy reform and racial equity.12
Maxton has an extensive background in various leadership roles, including serving as the National Policy Director for the NAACP and the National Director of Political Partnerships for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). Additionally, she has experience as a principal of an arts charter school and as a bilingual Spanish teacher.12 Her contributions to philanthropy and advocacy have earned her recognition as "Donor Organizer of the Year" by Inside Philanthropy and inclusion in notable lists such as Washington Magazine's "Young and the Guest List" and the NAACP's "Power 40" list.14
Educationally, Ashindi holds a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor’s degree in Africana Studies from Vassar College.
