Jim Disanto is a seasoned Silicon Valley tech executive and entrepreneur with a strong background in enterprise software, mobile applications, location-based services, sensors, and automotive systems.
With over 25 years of experience, Jim has a successful track record of founding and leading tech companies in various fields.
Notable among his ventures is KonaWare, a mobile applications company for transportation/logistics, which he co-founded, sold to Yamei Electronics, and later became a part of Trimble Navigation.
Jim's entrepreneurial journey also includes leading Simplexity Wireless, a major MVNO, and co-founding Vicinity, a web-based location service acquired by Microsoft.
Currently, Jim is the co-founder and Managing Director of Motus Ventures, a venture capital firm specializing in AI, Robotics, and IoT startups.
He serves as a Board Member/Observer or Advisor to several prominent companies in the tech industry like Waze, Auto-Talks, Quanergy, Doorman, and Argus Cyber Security.
Jim's professional network spans across auto OEMs, Tier1 suppliers, logistics firms, telecommunications operators, research organizations, and universities.
In his educational background, Jim holds Bachelor degrees in Aerospace and Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, as well as an MBA from Stanford University.
Outside of work, Jim enjoys spending time with his two daughters, engaging in activities like snowboarding, sailing, golfing, and managing his vineyard.
