Jason Anderson, CFP®, CPA

Jason Anderson, CFP®, CPA, is the Director of the Personal Finance Program and Lecturer of Finance at the University of Kansas School of Business with a strong background in finance education, research, and industry experience.

Jason holds various degrees including a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Golden Gate University, a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Educational Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Nonprofit Leadership Studies, Theology, and Spanish from Rockhurst University.

Currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Personal Financial Planning at Kansas State University, Jason's academic interests lie in the intersection of household finance and data science. He has expertise in building machine learning models, quantitative and qualitative analysis, statistical techniques, and data science tools such as PyTorch, scikit-learn, Stata, R, Python, Excel, and MPlus.

Jason has a history of working in various educational institutions and financial organizations. He has been a Financial Consultant at Intellicents, focusing on providing financial advisory services beyond the wealthiest clients, and has served in different roles at The University of Kansas, KU Endowment, Gradmetrics, CommunityAmerica Credit Union, Park University, University of Texas at Arlington, among others.

Certified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Kansas, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, and a Certified Student Loan Professional®, Jason's diverse expertise extends to financial planning theory, hypothesis testing, large dataset analysis, and primary data collections through surveys. He also has experience in coding with tools like Databricks and Google Colab.
