Kathleen Godfrey

Kathleen Godfrey is an experienced GIS professional with a passion for sustainable development, community development, and education. She graduated with an honours degree in Geoinformatics from the University of Pretoria, with additional experience studying abroad at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. Kathleen is dedicated to making an impact in the world through her work, and has a wealth of experience in location analytics, satellite and drone image interpretation, local economic development, urban design and sustainability, and non-profit management. She is also IEMA-certified in carbon accounting, which has made her an increasingly sought-after consultant for organisations seeking to measure their environmental impact.
After university, Kathleen worked as a GIS analyst for companies including Pegasys and Focus Africa before transitioning to management roles, serving as the Chairperson of the Africa Scout Youth Forum at the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and as the Team Lead of The Hand-Up Program at The Better Tomorrow Movement. Kathleen also served as a Volunteer at Suncheon Asia-Pacific Scout Centre and as a Temporary Intern at GEOTERRA IMAGE, where she gained valuable experience working with satellite imagery.
Kathleen has also been involved in several leadership positions and volunteer roles, including as Secretary at The Greenline UP and Chairperson at The Inklings Society (UP). She is a consummate learner with a passion for education and has designed and delivered training sessions on sustainability, innovation, leadership, and non-profit development. Kathleen is building her specialisation in human-centred design and public health, which will undoubtedly make her an even more valuable asset to any organisation she works for.
