Isaac Buwembo is the Director of Service Design at Year Up, a nonprofit organization focused on workforce development. However, after witnessing systemic issues during medical missions in Uganda, he shifted his focus towards understanding and improving complex systems. He holds an MBA in Design Strategy from the California College of the Arts, which blends business acumen with design thinking.12 Before Year Up, he founded a social enterprise called Civil Labs, which provided leadership development opportunities for Black and brown youth in Oakland, California.1
In his current position at Year Up, Buwembo works on innovative projects that enhance the organization's training programs and expand their reach to serve more young adults effectively.
