Ilya Bukshteyn

Ilya Bukshteyn is a highly accomplished product leader at Microsoft with extensive experience in technology and business strategy. He currently serves as the VP of Microsoft Teams Calling, Devices, and Premium Experiences.1

Bukshteyn has been with Microsoft for over 30 years, having joined the company in 1994.13 Throughout his tenure, he has held various leadership positions, including:

1. VP, Microsoft Teams Calling and Devices (April 2022 - Present)
2. General Manager, Microsoft Teams Devices (March 2018 - March 2022)
3. Principal Group Product Manager, Skype for Business (March 2014 - March 2018)
4. Senior Director, TellMe / Speech @ Microsoft (2011 - 2014)
5. Senior Director, Windows Embedded (2008 - 2011)

In his current role, Bukshteyn leads a team responsible for the strategy, product delivery, and business results of Teams Phone and Teams Devices, including Microsoft Teams Rooms, Teams Phones, Teams Displays, and Certified Teams Peripherals.1

Some of his key achievements include:

• Driving the creation and incubation of Microsoft Teams Rooms
• Creating a devices portfolio strategy across first-party and third-party devices
• Leading the development of new devices optimized for Microsoft Teams
• Defining and delivering differentiating capabilities for Intelligent Communications

Prior to Microsoft, Bukshteyn worked at TransEnergy Management Inc. and Sierra Systems.1 He holds a BCompSc in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University and the University of Victoria, as well as a Diploma in Computer Information Systems from Douglas Community College.1

Bukshteyn is also a naturalized U.S. citizen, having become one specifically to be able to vote.2
