Giorgio Gotti

Giorgio Gotti is a distinguished Professor of Accounting and the Director of the School of Accountancy at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

He previously held the position of the Dr. Gary J. Mann Family Distinguished Professor of Accounting at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) until July 2021.

Giorgio Gotti serves on the Board of Directors of the American Accounting Association (AAA) as the Director focusing on International, with a term spanning from 2020 to 2023.

His research focuses on international and financial accounting, and he is the co-author of the renowned textbook International Accounting, published by McGraw Hill.

Giorgio Gotti's work has been published in prestigious journals such as the International Journal of Accounting, Journal of Accounting, Auditing & Finance, and Journal of Business Ethics.

He has held leadership positions within the American Accounting Association, including President of the International Accounting Section, and contributed to various committees of the AAA and the European Accounting Association.

Giorgio Gotti is an associate editor for the Journal of International Accounting, Auditing & Taxation and serves on the editorial boards of The International Journal of Accounting and Journal of International Accounting Research.

He is a sought-after academic speaker and actively participates in conferences globally as a panelist, presenter, or discussant.

Giorgio Gotti earned his PhD in Business Administration and Master of Accountancy from the University of Tennessee, and a Laurea in Economics from Bocconi University, Italy. Additionally, he is a Chartered Accountant and Statutory Auditor in Milan, Italy.
