Ali Afridi, an experienced seed-stage tech investor, hails from Lahore, Pakistan, and the Boston suburbs. He completed his computer science studies both at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the KTH Royal Institute of Technology. He also attended Aitchison College and Lexington High School. Ali has worked with various startup and academic research teams and interned at General Catalyst Partners. He served as VC at Lightbank, where he incubated and/or spearheaded seed rounds for a number of unicorns. Ali joined Equal Ventures as VC, later becoming Principal at the New York City-based seed-stage VC firm. At Equal Ventures, he employed a thesis-driven approach in investing and occasionally played a role in incubating startups. Additionally, he worked as a technical Product Manager at Gigster and was a Recess Labs Fellow.
