Key responsibilities in this role included leading the discovery, user research, competitive analysis, wireframing, prototyping and design phases of the first ever enterprise applications within the EchoAccelerator platform. Working closely with developers to build, QA and ship both new applications and new features within our existing consumer portals and internal platforms. Researching, designing and documenting UI components for the inception of the enterprise design system that will live within the EchoAccelerator platform. Wireframing, researching, designing and prototyping the brand new EchoDrive native mobile app (iOS and Android) for truck drivers within Echo’s carrier network. Participating in the roadmapping and potential capabilities of new and existing applications within EchoAccelerator and EchoDrive platforms.

User Experience (UX) Designer

Key responsibilities for this role included creating a comprehensive global brand and event series for Urban Outfitters (UO) with a team of other interns, for a summer long internship project that involved both a mobile app and web customer experience that I designed and presented to the UO Creative Directors. Researching and designing the web landing page for the internal philanthropic/social responsibility department at UO, to be hosted on <a href="http://urbanoutfitters.com">urbanoutfitters.com</a> under the guidance of the UI team. Conducting competitive analysis research on websites and apps of different retail brands and non-retail brands to aid projects, as well as to provide new insight for my team’s on-going projects. Designed the user flow, interactions, animations, logo and overall UI for the creation of an app as part of an additional intern project, with the help of two mobile backend development interns.

Key responsibilities of this role included meeting with faculty in the MSU Broad College of Business and developing work plans for accessibility remediation of their courses. Understanding WCAG 2.0 Web Accessibility Guidelines as well as federal and institutional regulations regarding accessibility for digital content to best consult university faculty. Strategizing and problem solving solutions to accessibility violations within course content, while keeping the integrity of professors’ original course goals. Assisting the Digital Content and Accessibility Team (DCAT) with accessibility projects including working with other faculty members of Michigan State University and on other university projects. Leading meetings with faculty about Learning and Accessibility, as well as explaining the overall goals and objectives of MSU regarding accessibility of digital content. Collaborating with team members throughout IT Services on solutions, goals and improvements for moving the University’s accessibility programs forward for the future.

Accessibility Intern

Key responsibilities for this role included editing, writing and formatting company documentation and publications, including product service manuals and annual product update notes. Designing new covers, graphics and templates for Toro publications to be dispersed to dealers and distributors throughout the year. Creating and maintaining a standardization system to regulate how new materials and publications being created can maintain brand standards as well as visual appeal and best possible user experience. Presenting to coworkers and other teams about topics such as responsive design, ideas about improving user experience of service manuals and how they are accessed, as well as several graphic design projects I completed throughout the summer. Reviewing company websites to better improve their user flow and overall user experience, and adherence to web accessibility standards, and presenting my findings to various teams.

As a tutor for NCAA Student Athletes at Michigan State University in various subject throughout the academic year, my responsibilities included managing on average 8 student athletes per semester with their coursework and assignments. Coordinating their practice and traveling schedules with school work and tutoring sessions. Maintaining knowledge of NCAA compliance regulations and adhere to all procedures and guidelines to maintain academic integrity and the student athlete's eligibility. Report academic progress to each athlete’s team Academic Coordinator as well as tutoring supervisors.

Website Content Strategist

Weekly responsibilities as a Spartan Ambassador included selling and influencing prospective students, their families and university guests on attending Michigan State University while giving a 90 minute walking tour throughout campus. Creating an enjoyable visit for guests and answering questions about university-related programs, student activities, athletics and university academics. Strategically addressing and directing 50-60 people in each tour group and coordinating changing tour routes with other guides to make tours as time efficient and impactful as possible.
