Dr Maria A. Pozza

Maria A. Pozza is a highly accomplished and experienced lawyer with a diverse background that includes commercial, governance, risk management, legal and regulatory experience in the energy, space, oil & gas, and IT/tech sectors. With an LLB Hons from Birmingham City University, a Masters in International Studies from the University of Otago and a PhD from the University of Otago that focused on the laws of outer space, Pozza brings a wealth of expertise to her work. Her areas of specialization include space law, cybersecurity, cryptocurrencies, AML/CFT, corporate governance, aviation, and technology law. Pozza is also an expert in risk assessment and management, with extensive experience in implementing ISO standards, AUS/NZ Standards, internal auditing, and attestation readiness assessments. When not working as a corporate/commercial lawyer, Pozza is a lecturer on international relations and cybersecurity. She has held positions as a consultant and leader in large specialist teams and has won a number of awards for her legal work including Inter-Pacific Bar Association Fellowship Award and the University of Otago Doctoral Scholarship Award.
