Akshaya Suresh

Akshaya Suresh is a highly accomplished lawyer, specializing in transaction advisory, general corporate commercial, privacy and data protection, technology law and commercial contracts. She is currently a partner at Commercial Law Advisors, formerly known as VB Legal. Akshaya has a diverse legal experience and has worked with well-renowned organizations such as Freshworks, J. Sagar Associates, HSB Partners, Solix Technologies Ltd, and Wipro Technologies. At Freshworks, Akshaya served as the Director of legal and played a pivotal role in scaling the legal team from scratch managing compliance, contracts, IPR, litigation, corporate governance, go-to-market, M&A, capital raise, and CSR.

Akshaya has also mentored many startups in setting up their legal and privacy functions and acted as an outsourced General Counsel for early-stage and growth stage startups. Her expertise in data protection and privacy includes being a certified Data Protection Officer by European Centre on Privacy and Cybersecurity (ECPC) from Maastricht University Faculty of Law. She has made valuable contributions as a presenter at various industry events and forums, such as MCCI, IAPP, and Startup Grind, and served as a mentor at Startup Weekend.
