Darryl Swanepoel

Darryl Swanepoel is a South African with a deep-rooted connection to Chinese culture and a strong identity as a global citizen, having spent nearly two decades immersing himself in the vibrant environment of China.

His journey in China began in 2003 with the intention of seeking new experiences to bring back to South Africa, but the magnetic appeal of China's dynamic lifestyle made him stay. His extensive exposure to Chinese culture and fast-paced work environment has significantly influenced his outlook on life.

Darryl is currently the head of a design studio located in Shenzhen, specializing in crafting branding strategies and visual identities for both Western and Chinese companies. His unique ability to bridge the gap between these two cultures makes him a valuable asset for companies aiming to establish a presence in different markets.

Aside from his design work, Darryl is a whisky enthusiast and a key figure in the Nine Rivers Distillery Project, where he leads the creative team in designing and branding initiatives for the project.

With a solid educational background in business administration and a diverse professional history ranging from design and creative direction to consultancy and teaching, Darryl brings a wealth of experience and cultural insight to his endeavors.
