•	Designed and synthesized a library of TIR domain mimetics as a novel strategy for intervention in sepsis, funded by Transformational Medical Technologies Initiatives (TMTI), and also supported by National Institute of Health. 
•	Explored potential of functional cavitands as prophylaxis for exposure to the nerve agents, funded by Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), U.S. Army.
•	Developed an antidote for reactivation of butyrylcholinesterase, funded by National Institute of Health CounterAct.
•	Designed and synthesized a library of compounds as therapeutics for staphylococcal enterotoxin B (SEB) intoxication, funded by the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID).
•	Performed basic research in molecular recognition, funded by National Institute of Health.
•	Applied molecular encapsulation to materials and information science, funded by National Science Foundation.
•	Discovered new mechanistic insights for interaction of ACE inhibitors and Statins in the innate immune system signaling pathway.
•	Designed and synthesized a library of alpha-helix mimetics for inhibition of IRAK4/IRAK2 as anti-inflammatory agents.
•	Developed covalent molecular capsules via dynamic combinatorial chemistry.
•	Developed a chelating agent for extraction of Uranium from sea water.
•	Single-Molecule DNA Sequencing with Engineered Protein Nanopores
•	Developed novel strategies towards the stabilization of lipidic arrays with highly modular synthesis of polymerizable phospholipids
•	Employing DNA nanostructures to build droplet interface bilayers (DIB) or solid-state arrays.
•	Co-mentored more than 35 Postdoctoral fellows and graduate students.
•	Published more than 120 articles in the high-ranked peer reviewed scientific journals with an h-index of 35.
•	Published multiple chapters in scientific books.
•	Awarded visiting scholarship of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS, 2010).

Assistant Professor of Molecular Assembly

•	Studied behaviors of molecules in confined spaces.
•	Developed tools for studying reaction mechanism through NMR spectroscopy.
•	Established encapsulation of bioactive compounds as a tool for drug delivery.
•	Created magnetic anisotropy maps of molecular capsules’ cavity of with using nucleus independent chemical shift and density functional theory calculation. 
•	Demonstrated new forms of isomerization in confined spaces, a new concept in physical organic chemistry.

Postdoctoral Fellow

•	Performed conformational search for annulenes and annulene cations with monte carlo simulations and random walk approaches.
•	Synthesized tubular aromatic compounds.
•	Studied anisotropy of the induced current density (ACID) in conjugated system at density functional theory (DFT) level.
