Danne Woo is a multifaceted professional with extensive experience in design, technology, and academia. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Design BFA program at Queens College, CUNY, where he teaches courses such as Creative Coding, Web Design, and Data Visualization.23 Woo's career spans over 20 years, encompassing graphic and interaction design, web development, data analysis, and data visualization design.1
As the Education Director on the Board of Directors for the Data Visualization Society, which has 31,000 members, Woo plays a significant role in shaping the field of data visualization education.1 His expertise in this area is further demonstrated by his creation of Datavisual, a data visualization tool he founded and serves as CEO, which has over 20,000 users globally.1
Woo's background is deeply rooted in design, having grown up in a family of graphic designers in San Diego, California. He became the youngest member of AIGA at age 10 and designed a typeface for Splash Media at 12.2 His professional journey includes founding several companies, such as BigPlay, which set a Guinness World Record with its project Splat!1
