Brian Mwanamambo is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in international development, specializing in various areas such as agriculture, value chain development, strategic planning, business development, public-private partnerships, financial inclusion, youth, and MSME development.
With a rich background spanning across more than 14 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, including Ethiopia, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, Brian has demonstrated his expertise and commitment to making a positive impact in these regions.
His educational qualifications include a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration and Management with Distinction from Cambridge International College, a Bachelor of Engineering in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Zambia, and certification as a CFA Level I Candidate from the CFA Institute.
Brian furthered his education with a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University, where he was honored with the 2009 Outstanding Masters Thesis in Ag Economics in the USA by the SAEA. He also pursued studies in Innovation & Design Thinking at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, enhancing his skill set and knowledge base.
Throughout his career, Brian has held significant roles in various reputable organizations, including serving as the Senior Youth Employment Officer at the African Development Bank Group, Senior Business Development Specialist for the Africa Region at ChildFund International, and Regional Representative for Southern Africa at the African Agribusiness Incubators Network.
His leadership experience includes positions such as Chief Executive Officer at Agribusiness Incubation Trust, Co-Founder and CEO at Frontier Development Associates Ltd, Country Programme Coordinator at the U.S. African Development Foundation, and Senior Programme Manager for SME, Trade & Investment at the Zambia Agribusiness Technical Assistance Centre (ZATAC). Additionally, Brian has served as Programme Manager for the Zambia Agribusiness Technical Assistance under USAID at DAI and Team Leader for the Rural Group Businesses Programme under USAID at the National Cooperative Business Association CLUSA International (NCBA CLUSA).
