Hedwig Siewertsen

Hedwig Siewertsen is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in SME finance and development, agricultural finance, and impact investing in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia.

She holds a Bsc in Tropical Agriculture and an MA in Development Economics, providing her with a strong academic background to support her practical work.

During her consultancy career, Hedwig has completed over 50 successful projects in Africa and Asia, focusing on designing, implementing, and evaluating microfinance and value chain development programs.

In her role as the Managing Director of DOB Equity, an impact investment fund, she closed and oversaw 8 investments in renewable energy, agribusiness, and products targeting the Bottom of the Pyramid (BoP) market.

Currently, Hedwig leads the financial inclusion efforts at the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, where she focuses on leveraging digital financial services and alternative delivery channels to promote financial inclusion for smallholder farmers on the continent.

Her work involves developing interventions that reduce risks for farmers and enhance opportunities for agricultural SMEs to better serve African farmers.

Hedwig's extensive educational background and hands-on experience have equipped her with the expertise to drive sustainable development initiatives in the agricultural and financial sectors.
