Benyka L. Mitchell

Benyka Mitchell is a seasoned educator with over 15 years of experience in the field. Having spent 13 years as a classroom teacher, she specialized in teaching English and Math to students ranging from grades 5 to 8. Adept in blended learning environments, Benyka empowers her students to leverage technology in enhancing their comprehension of math concepts. Her passion for culinary arts led her to establish a Junior Chef's Club, introducing students to the foundational skills of cooking.

Beyond the classroom, Benyka Mitchell diversified her expertise by delving into curriculum development and program coordination roles across various countries such as Japan, China, and Yemen. In 2018, she pursued formal education in Culinary Arts, enrolling in Anne Arundel Community College's Hospitality Degree Program. Through this program, she obtained her ServSafe Certification in sanitation, along with gaining extensive knowledge in cooking techniques and baking. Currently, she is engrossed in culinary research, development, and food science.

Benyka Mitchell currently serves as the Chef/Owner of The DediCaterer, a catering business specializing in providing home-cooked meals for intimate events. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English from Spelman College. Additionally, she has previously held positions at Baltimore City Public Schools as a Math Teacher and Culinary Arts Student, at Baltimore City Community College as an Academic Coordinator, at ADRA as a Program Coordinator, and at Hangzhou Educational Services as a Curriculum Developer and Language Instructor.
