Arpit Tiwari, PhD

Arpit Tiwari, PhD, is a Staff Engineer specializing in electromagnetic simulation and optimization at Rivian, where he has been working since March 2022. He has a strong academic background, having earned a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, followed by a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

His doctoral research focused on computational fluid dynamics (CFD), multiphase flow systems, and high-performance computing. Notably, he developed a numerical scheme for simulating compressible multiphase flows and performed significant simulations related to cavitation, which have implications in biomedical applications.

In addition to his engineering role, Tiwari is actively involved in professional communities, serving as a member of various technical committees for organizations such as the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
