Ariel Pisturino
Opera Singer-Soprano
Ariel Pisturino is an opera singer and soprano who works as the Alto Section Leader at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Glendale, California.12 She was initially hired as a mezzo-soprano but transitioned to soprano.1 She has held this position since September 2010.1 Additionally, Pisturino is a Professor of Practice and the Director of Vocal Studies.2

- Making her debut with Long Beach Opera as Nancy T’ang in Adam’s Nixon in China, which led to the Los Angeles Times hailing her as “an impressive young discovery”.34
- Performing roles such as Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Micaela in Bizet’s Carmen.2
- Collaborating with composer Mark Abel on his song cycle Five Rilke Songs on the album Terrain of the Heart.345
- Premiering a new song cycle, Dewdrops, for soprano and electric guitar, by Alex Miller.345
- Making her Kennedy Center debut in Three Paderewski’s by Jenni Brandon.34
Pisturino is also the artistic director of unSUNg Concerts, a new music summer concert series that focuses on new and unknown vocal music. She co-founded the performance troupe Chamber Opera Players of LA.2345
Pisturino holds a Master's degree from the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music, and a Bachelor's degree in Music from Northern Arizona University.234 She is also an OperaWorks alumna.234 In addition to her work in music, Pisturino has worked as a singing server at Miceli's in Hollywood since April 2008 and previously at Black Bart's Steak House in Flagstaff, Arizona.1
