Abraham Kim, Ph.D., drives CKA’s mission to amplify the national voice and advance the influence of the Korean American community across the United States. For more than five years, Dr. Kim has been advocating for the national Korean American community, building bridges across ethnic/racial groups, and training Korean American and Asian American leaders across the United States. Under his leadership, CKA is recognized as one of the leading national, multisector, and intergenerational organizations for the Korean American community in our nation’s capital, Washington, DC.

Today, CKA is a dynamic and rapidly growing leadership network representing over 500 top executives, innovators, and thought leaders across varying sectors, from corporate and finance to performing artists and award-winning authors. Dr. Kim speaks to a wide variety of audiences nationwide, organizes transformational leadership experiences, mentors leaders, and advocates for the AAPI community's interests.

Executive Director

- Managed and grew Center’s overall research, programs and outreach efforts to promote broad U.S.- Asia relations at the university and across the United States
- Established the Mansfield Center as the preeminent US-Asia policy outreach and leadership development program in the Pacific NW and Northern Rockies
- Grew the Center's budget from $2.5mn to $5.5mn over four years
- Managed the Center’s critical relationships with the University of Montana, funders, U.S.-based and Asia-based thinktanks/academic institutions
- Spearheaded the Center's innovation and interdisciplinary programs and fundraising initiatives
- Organize the annual Mansfield International Conference (200 - 500 participants / mansfieldconference.org) and a dozen symposiums each year
- Coordinated University of Montana’s and the state of Montana's outreach to the Asia-Pacific region, including lead trade missions
- Lectured on Asian international relations, Korean politics and U.S. foreign policy
- Spoke regularly at national forums and with media regarding Asian current state and future of U.S.-Asia diplomatic, security and economic relations

The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center at the University of Montana

•	Served as the sole executive officer in charge of all operations and priority setting during leadership transition period of the organization
•	Managed and mentored 8 full time staff, 12 graduate interns and 2 independent contractors
•	Oversaw institution’s multi-million dollar budget to conduct institute’s research, programs and publications
•	Maintained critical relationships with research institution partners, government agencies and funders in South Korea and the United States  
•	Spoke regularly across the United States as the institute’s main representative at public forums and private meetings with U.S./Asian government, business and think-tank/academic leaders on the current status and future of U.S.-Korea alliance, economic relations and national security issues

Korea Economic Institute of America

Interim President

•	Served as principal executive officer to formulate and execute institute’s research and communication innovation strategy, manage the overall daily operations of staff and vendors, mentor program directors and maintain quality control of institute’s programs
•	Worked with president to establish institute’s short-/long-term vision, set annual programmatic priorities and establish budget plans    
•	Oversaw the development of new program series and the expansion of existing institute’s research to reflect Korea’s growing global leadership. For example: Korea-South East Asia seminar, Korea and international development forum, Green Korea seminar and Korea-China Club.
•	Led creative team’s launch of new web-based outreach programs
•	Oversaw a team of directors and associates that organized 100+ seminars, conferences and public events in Washington, DC and across the country each year.  Types of programs include: multi-day academic conferences, policy simulations, black-tie gala for 500+ VIP participants and government-to-government meetings
•	Managed the production of three annual journals on U.S. and Korean foreign affairs consisting of KEI commissioned research by leading Asia policy experts and academics 
•	Functioned as senior representative to manage, strengthen and expand institute’s critical institutional relationships with U.S. and Korea policy leaders, program funders and joint project partners
•	Lectured regularly at universities, international affairs organizations, chambers of commerce and media gatherings

Vice President

•	Headed project team to formulate creative research solutions for government client challenge, build products and advisory services for clients, and finally deliver to Department of Defense and other national security agencies 
•	Oversaw the daily operations of multiple government client research programs including manage government contract implementation, budgets, human resource demands, staff training product development and quality control of deliverables
•	Recruited, supervised and integrated into projects 30-35 independent contractors of subject matter, copyedit, graphic design and information technology expertise for client projects
•	Partnered with business development team to develop marketing strategies, new partnerships with vendors to enhance offerings and build innovative advisory/research products to grow client base

Eurasia Group

Research Manager, Government Services

•	Presided over firm-wide coverage of the two Koreas and define baseline calls on developing political, economic, and security issues 
•	Advised portfolio managers, corporate executives and U.S. government decision-makers/strategists on political risks related to the Korean peninsula and Northeast Asia 
•	Monitored ongoing issues and trends in East Asia and regularly wrote short articles (e.g., Eurasia Group Notes) and longer reports for firm’s financial, corporate and government clients on key developments that may impact financial markets, business environment, domestic stability and/or regional security
•	Served as primary spokesperson to the media regarding Korea related issues.  News appearances and interviews include: CNBC, Bloomberg, Dow Jones News, Fox News, Newsweek, Asahi Shimbun, Radio Free Asia, BNN Canadian News, South Korea’s e-FM TBS, Yonhap, Joongang Ilbo, Korea Times, Arirang TV, and EBS Radio.

Northeast Asia Analyst / Lead Korea Analyst

•	Designed, organized and executed over thirty classified/unclassified war games and simulations for federal government and business community clients exploring possible future scenarios, examining policy alternatives and building crisis contingency plans.  Past clients included: U.S. Air Force, U.S. Joint Forces Command, the intelligence community, Bacardi USA and Creative Realities
•	Managed  multi-year government contracts and programs for outreach, conference, gaming and training programs
•	Supported department’s business development to grow business with existing and new clients, including pitching new project concepts, developing marketing strategy, and writing white papers/ technical proposals

SAIC

Project Manager/Analyst

•	Researched and published writings on East Asian political, economic and security issues in regional journals and newspapers 
•	Consulted for corporations, the media, U.S. government agencies, members of Congress and international organizations on developing issues in Northeast Asia 
•	Coordinated the East Asian Working Group, a monthly policy forum addressing U.S.-Asia relations comprising members of the business, academic and government communities in Washington DC 
•	Wrote grant proposals and managed outreach programs to Korean corporate and foundation donors
