Abby Aker is a seasoned product designer with a passion for building relationships between creators and readers. Currently stationed at Medium, Aker has nurtured relationships with various creators and has helped them grow their audiences through email outreach. She graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BFA in Graphic Design, an education that has been instrumental in her successful career path.

Aker's impressive resume includes various roles at several leading organizations. Prior to joining Medium, Aker worked at The Washington Post as a Senior Product Designer and as a Product Designer. She also spent time at Threespot where she held both Senior Designer and Designer roles, as well as an earlier stint as a Junior Designer. In addition, Aker was a Web & Graphic Design Intern at Pelland Advertising and a Freelance Designer at Hornet Marine.

Beyond her work experience, Aker's background includes various extracurricular activities and internships, including serving as a Notetaker at Rochester Institute of Technology, a Sales Associate at Gap Kids, a Cashier and Cold Foods Cook at Sabatinos Italian Kitchen. She was also a Peer Mentor at Paul Center and a Graphic Design Intern at Biz Kid$ Real.
