BT / Barefoot Computing Programme delivery & BT Education Programme Volunteering
BT Education is born from the BT Better Futures programme.
It has been widely recognised that the number of ICT skilled college and university leavers has declined rapidly over the past few years, leaving companies like BT struggling to find skilled personnel to take the company forward. This particularly applies to females. BT Education Programmes are being designed and launched to help address this nationwide issue. BT has just agreed to fund the next phase of the Barefoot Computing Programme into primary schools across England. The new primary school computing curriculum includes the teaching of computer science skills, such as Algorithms, Bug Fixing, Coding etc. 
Working with external Delivery Partners and BT Volunteers, delivering workshops across the country to primary school teachers. 
Working with new initiatives to drive volunteering in BT Education programmes in order to help create a future workforce that is highly skilled in ICT.

BT Education Programme Team

We run Work Inspiration on behalf of BT. Working with schools and further education groups, we aim to help youngsters prepare for the world of work.

This ranges from large events to individual work shadowing. 

The Work Inspiration campaign addresses two critical needs:

The business need for employable recruits, the standard of which is improved by engaging earlier with the future workforce.
The social need to provide young people with a clearer picture of work, to equip them to make decisions about their future career paths and increase their employability.
