Youngman Lovell design sustainable developments, particularly carbon-neutral modular housing. Alongside my masters, I have been a Consultant to this early-stage business. Projects include: product launch (design input, brand, planning applications etc); residential development (both with third-party developers and Youngman Lovell development projects); advising self-build clients; assessing development opportunities; conducting residual valuations and general real estate development advice.

A design-led agency selling a curated list of homes across the UK, offering a specialist approach to a design-literate, and often-wealthy audience. I joined a team of seven as a junior having never worked in the “property industry”, and left a 25-strong, £3m+ turnover company as the most senior staff member not at Director level.

I led the team in appraising architecturally interesting properties across the country, meeting with the owners to devise the best strategy for marketing their homes, or provide consultancy for architects and developers. My specialty was ‘Masterpieces’ – the most significant architectural homes in the country – and I have become a trusted voice within that network. I worked closely with all areas of business development, devising the best strategy to develop the brand in order to build revenue, awareness and strengthen the community.

I have developed an in-depth knowledge of 20th-century architecture and design, and an acute understanding of the specialist marketplace in which it can sell.

I co-founded a startup, online retailer for 20th-Century furniture and designs, targeting private, industry and architectural buyers in London, streamlining the process of buying vintage design.

Despite getting involved in all areas of the operation, from finance to PR, I led the sourcing and selling pieces from dealers across Europe. The focus was Modernist, Bauhaus, Streamline and Mid-Century up to £10,000, sold via e-commerce, trade fairs and pop-up installations, as well as an important network of personal contacts.

I recognized a market opportunity to develop and curate limited edition ‘modern retro’ furniture for commercial buyers and created MAR-DEN MADE as a sister company. I designed, brought to market and sold new pieces in collaboration with a UK maker and created an online marketplace to curate and sell the work of emerging furniture, ceramic and fabric designers.

Avalon is a Talent Management company working with high profile comedians including Frank Skinner, Lee Mack and Russell Howard.

I supported a Director to manage commercial affairs regarding broadcasters, tours and live shows and acted as their talent scout on the circuit. Managed demanding clients in unorthodox and fluid situations.

As part of a small and dynamic team I worked on a variety of PR, promotional and marketing initiatives both on and offline – for live events and DVD’s.

As Researcher I worked on a high-profile ITV entertainment show, for which I interviewed celebrity guests (not on camera), compiled research for writers and supported producers.
