Senior Project Manager, Center for Community Change

Community Change is a social justice organization committed to building the power and capacity of low-income people, especially low-income people of color to change their communities and public policy for the better.

Effective since 2017, serve as the project director and key gatekeeper around 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) Boards of Directors matters and engagement opportunities. Drive the logistical and programmatic coordination and execution of two-to-three, multi-day boards meetings per year for up to 60 attendees and manage board event budgets. Staff the board Executive and Governance Committees. 

Oversee board governance including minutes, resolutions, officer and director elections, maintenance of bylaws and policies, and the design of new board member orientations. In 2021, project managed the review and revision of the 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4) and Endowment Boards bylaws and policies manuals resulting in tightened records. 

Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team and board Governance Committee to identify future board needs based on race, gender, geographic location, current composition, and key gaps connected to the organization's strategic direction. 

Sit on the organization’s Equity Committee on the management side. Responsible for generating data driven reports around pay equity, equity within work performance reviews, staff satisfaction, and hiring, onboarding and staff development to support the creation of initiatives that promote an inclusive and equitable work environment.

Active member of a leadership body and working group focused on strengthening the organization's culture and infrastructure systems and processes.

Community Change

Director of Governance and Sustainability Projects

Project managed the onboarding of a Co-President and the Chief of Programs for the first six months of employment, respectively, to ensure they were stepped in organizational priorities and aligned around infrastructure systems and processes. This included identifying and sequencing key conversations with board directors, staff, and grassroots partners, as well as providing daily calendar management, administrative and logistical support.

Project managed the organization’s Executive Team. Coordinated and staffed monthly meetings and quarterly retreats. Built agendas and chaired meetings to move difficult conversations forward and stay on course. Captured meeting notes and tracked and followed up on action items. 

Implemented and shepherded the organization’s annual strategic priorities planning process, operationalized tracking systems, and evaluated the progress of goals and deliverables on a quarterly basis to sharpen our focus and apply lessons learned. 

Drove and mapped the organization’s staff engagement efforts to ensure alignment around annual priorities via monthly all-staff calls and brown bag sessions. Worked with cross-cutting staff to develop the purpose and outcomes for each session. 

Drafted written monthly all-staff communications to share important organizational updates aligned with our priorities.

Director of Executive Office

Managed Executive Office processes to ensure administrative and operational systems were in place and running efficiently to maximize the team’s impact.

Led the recruitment, hiring, onboarding and supervision of eight Executive Coordinators, six of which are still at the organization and have been promoted. Concurrently supervised up to four Executive Office support staff.

Mapped and monitored the Executive Office 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) annual budgets totaling over $1 million.

Senior Project Manager

Provided strategic scheduling and administrative support to the Chief of Staff in all matters related to calendar management, meeting preparation and follow up, email correspondence, and expense reconciliation/reimbursement. 

Led the logistical and program planning, execution and evaluation of three 100-person all staff retreats to deepen connections among colleagues and alignment around organizational goals.

Project Manager

As the Regional Field Director, Mid-Atlantic region, I coordinated local advocacy events based on the organization’s campaigns to promote the ONE brand and agenda. I also served as the main liaison to volunteers in the Mid-Atlantic region to keep them abreast of happenings within the organization.

The ONE Campaign

Regional Field Director - Mid-Atlantic Region

The ONE Campaign is a member-based international development organization dedicated to the fight against extreme poverty and preventable diseases, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa. 

In the Executive Assistant role, I delivered high-level administrative, scheduling and logistical support to the Chief Marketing Officer and the Global Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing. I also contributed campaign project support to the Global Marketing Department and conducted research on prospective partners and allies.

In the Administrative Assistant role, I provided administrative and scheduling support in the Radiation Oncology Department for the practice of Dr.Brian Collins and Dr. Keith Unger in all matters related to patient care, clinical operations and office management. I also coordinated and staffed department site-visits.

Maxim Healthcare Services is a medical staffing agency focused on in-home health and nursing care. 

As a Healthcare Recruiter, I recruited and managed over 100 nurses and placed them in homecare settings. I also organized and staffed corporate wellness and flu clinics.
