Kanyi Maqubela
Kanyi Maqubela is a South African native who overcame the adversity of apartheid and went on to become a successful entrepreneur and venture capitalist. Maqubela studied Philosophy at Stanford University, where he also dabbled in the fields of computer science, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. He has taught elementary and middle school math and science and even worked on Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign. Throughout his career, Maqubela has held various leadership positions in the startup world, including co-founding Doostang and working as a venture capitalist at Collaborative Fund. He now serves as the Managing Partner at Kindred Ventures, a firm that invests in early-stage startups looking to make a positive impact on society.
