Garry Tan
Garry Tan is a renowned entrepreneur, engineer, and venture capitalist with a focus on early-stage startups. He currently serves as the co-founder and managing partner of Initialized Capital, a leading venture capital fund that has invested in companies like Coinbase and Instacart, among others. With over $3.2 billion in assets under management, Initialized Capital is known for supporting pre-product-market-fit seed startups that need the right direction and complete cofounding team. Tan has invested in and directly worked with over 600 companies in his career, often joining them at the earliest possible stage.
Before starting Initialized Capital, Tan was a partner at Y Combinator, where he worked with hundreds of startups and contributed to the accelerator's impressive track record. Prior to that, Tan co-founded Posterous, a popular website that was eventually acquired by Twitter. He also helped build Palantir Technology's quant finance analysis platform and designed the company's logo and wordmark.
