Max Rutherston

Max Rutherston is a well-known specialist in Japanese art, with over 30 years of experience in the field. He is the founder of Max Rutherston Ltd, a gallery that deals in antique Japanese metalwork, netsuke, and lacquer. With a degree in Japanese and expertise in the arts of the Edo period, he is an expert in Japanese lacquerware, inro, and netsuke. Rutherston also served as the president of the British Antique Dealers Association from 2011 to 2013. He has written several books on Japanese art and has curated exhibitions all over the world.
